Default Installing wireless card * problems*

Im trying to install a BT1060 wireless card on my laptop.
Followed the software instructions step by step up until the point where it asks me to plug in the card to the card slot.
Its supposed to recognise the card has been added and run the wizard to continue the installation.
The problem is that nothing happens when i do so. I can try it in either slot and still nowt.
I have installed it several times to try and get it to work but have had no joy
Should my card light up the power light when i plug it in?There is no life about it what so ever.
The laptop is a Dell Latitude c650 (i think)

Device manager shows the two PCMCIAadapters and it has two "Texas Instruments PCI-1420 Cardbus controllers.

Any ideas?
Im also using a BT Voyager 1091 Modem

Either the Device drivers are wrongly installed for the O/S your using or the Card is a duffer.

Is there anything showing up in device manager under 'Networking'?

I take it the laptop doesn't have a built in wireless function? If so it maybe conflicting.

Try leaving the card in the machine. Going to Add/Remove Programs and removing the device drivers. Reboot and see if windows moans about a new device that it can't install drivers for. At this stage point the wizard at the CD your using to install from.

Is the slot enabled in the bios?
Might be worth checking.
