Question Help please!

Hello. I have a very old Dan desktop PC. I have some data on it that I would like to transfer over to my lap top so I can basically chuck the desk pc in the bin. Problem is the PC does'nt have a cd writer or modern usb ports.

How is it done????

Many thanks

Try using a cross-over network cable, does the PC have an ethernet port?

take the disk out and put it in another desktop that does have a usb port, set it up as a slave drive, then copy the data off.

if you don't have access to another machine, you can get hold of IDE > USB converters for about 30 quid
