15GB G3 iPod Battery problem
Gotta say I still love my iPod even though at 2.5 years old it's getting on a bit (in IT years ). Recently I've noticed that when I charge it, the battery runs down in next to no time at all -- in fact, the battery indicator even after a full charge shows that it's next to dead. What's to do? Can I leave it in to where I bought it for a replacement battery or is it time to bin it and buy a new one (ouch! expensive option)? Anyone know how much a replacement battery costs?

Thanks for that Scooby-Doo. Was it an easy job to replace it? I looked at the destructions and it seems like a fiddly job...but for less than 20 quid I'm tempted to go for it!

Fairly easy once the case is open. The plastic screwdrivers are pretty crap and you will never open it with them alone. Best way is to use a stanley knife in the correct place to open it enough to get the plastic driver in. I was not worried about a few scratches as its already covered in them. The battery is far superior to the original.

Had the same issue on my 4th Gen iPod. Got a new, high capacity battery from here and fitted it myself. Was a newertechnology battery, came with tools to open the ipod up and full instructions. The link supplied also has a video showing you how to replace it and it's very easy.
