this is my question...................

i have zone alarm on my pc and it asks my permission to allow or deny different programmes. if something wants to act as a server, what does that mean?

the answer i would get in comp. related would baffle me

one example is a smilie pad i have, if i keep denying it it continousley asks for permission, what should i do?

Depends what is wanting access to your connection really. Some things are safe, some things can be potentially dangerous.

If it's something you installed and know is safe allow it, if it's something you heve never seen before block it and do a spyware/anti virus scan.

Got to go put my lottery numbers on, so pick this up when i get home.
