XBox 360 - HOW LOUD!!!
Walked into Currys today to look at TVs and walked out with a premium pack 360.
I'd heard they were loud but this can't be right! I'm thinking about taking it back, the volume needs to be right up on the TV to drown the bloody thing out. Plus, I had to make a second trip to the shops to pick up an Advanced Scart cable, I thought the premium pack had that included!

sorry no the scart is extra (RGB one), as is the vga cable......which are an **** to get hold of. The fans back off when used with DVD's and the like but demanding games will see them get very loud. I wouldnt say mine drowns out the tv but they do get quite loud

Its not the fans that are loud, its the DVD drive spinning. Hopefully the external HD DVD drive will take games and be a tad more quiet.

Posted about the same thing when I got mine. You do get used to it but it's a bit of a shocker when you first fire it up.

Jack you do get used to it that's all I can say
anywho why are you playing 5.1 games with the volume down anyway

Jack, you do get used to it... It only seems to be the games that spin up so fast/loud, DVD movies are very quiet!
You did well to get a premium and scart lead in a store...

You're all right, I got used to it last night, just an initial shock. I was expecting it to be quiet due to the external power supply, imagine if that had a fan as well!

I don't heat the room I have the 360/Projector in after an hour of the two things belching out heat I can sit in my pants no problem
so next time we play PGR3 on live ........ makes you think

(I'm an audio coder for games, so I to tend to have the sound up loud!
