Second hand laptop
Is there ever any point in buying a second hand laptop ? I need to get a computer for someone studying engineerng and they are finding it hard to do certain parts of the course with out access to a computer. A lap top seems the best way to go but I don't reallywant to spend more than £300. Will that be at all possible ?
Bloody right it should be, get half decent new ones for £400.
Just to add I just bought a gateway 1.7ghz centrino from staples for £699, comes with 1gb ram, 100gb HD, dual layer DVD burner, 15.4" bright screen bloody awesome maching for the money.

Hello
You have to be careful with second hand laptops, as the thing that is abused most is the battery. If it isn't treated properly, kept charged and allowed to drain completely / charge up then it will not hold power for very long.
A new battery for my IBM is around £120 ....

Brand new for £340 inc VAT. Can't argue with that:
