Default Tomtom5 - copying to another SD card?

Hi,

I just bought a Palm Treo 650 and Tomtom5 kit today and have been playing around with it. Very happy with the Tomtom5 software and am thinking of buying some extra maps and POI overlays.

Is it possible to copy the contents of the original Tomtom5 SD card onto my PC, then onto a bigger (e.g. 1Gb) SD card using an SD card reader? Ideally i'd like to have all maps, overlays etc on one card AND have enough space to put music/photo's on there.

Yes it is. I've done it plenty of times.

Great thx - just wondered if they had any copy protection etc on them. Not looking to make copies btw, purely to put the software on a bigger card.

Tomtom`s a great piece of software - recommended tweaks are:

1. Don’t forget you can get the speed cameras for FREE from: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php [Full instructions are there].
2. You can get the speed camera alerts to be verbal - rather than beeps, FREE from: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-go-poi-alerts.php [Full instructions are there].
3. To change your start-up screen (Splash Screen), see: http://www.expansys.com/forumthread....GO&thread=1430 & http://www.gomo-web.de/
4. To customise the menu go to: http://www.skux.net/tomtom/menubuilder2/index.php

if you add in the new poi program, be careful. it only works on the 5.2x versions of the firmware though. the new 5.4x version is not compatible with the GNU liscense so other external apps will not run. talk about shooting yourself in the foot. c'mon tomtom get the finger out.
