Left Handed Keyboard?
#6
When using the number pad for data input the user has to move the keyboard to use her left hand. If she then needs to type something she is stretching and getting RSI so some doc says.
May end up buying her a usb keypad.
EDIT hectic i did not take it the wrong way thats why i put im just bored and its friday. I did think the woman was joking when she asked for it but i guess if i was to use my left hand entering numbers it would get on my ****.

Or how about this for £50

Seems to me she'd be better of learning how to type properly though. Then RSI wouldn't be a problem no matter what sort of keyboard is being used

Can she not use both hands?
I'm right handed, but often have to use the number pad with my left hand whilst moving the mouse with my right hand, and I dont find it an issue.

its person dependant. It all depends on which is the prominent action & left/right brain action. Typing with left hand or moving mouse with right hand.

I'm right handed, but as I'm a musician (cellist), I've had to train the left hand to be possibly more controllable than the right, (because it's the hand that does all the fingering). It certainly is possible to do
I just get annoyed with all these people complaining about RSI, when most of the time it's caused by bad posture and improper keyboard technique. Nothing to do with being left or right handed...

for those who can use both hands for every day to day things, make a mental note on which hand you use for certain things & when doing 2 things at once which one will be prominent over the other...its an interesting study into left/right brain thought process....
edited: this is heading towards NSRdebate so i'll keep it computer related either try to use the keypad with your right hand or buy a keypad for the left side & try to use you mouse with the right. Try each way, one way will be more comfortable than the other...

Ok, I've just been trying this, and the mouse is possibly slightly easier to use in my right hand, (something to do with the way the mouse is physically designed - it fits more snuggly in the right hand).
As far as the keypad goes however, I find it equally easy to use using either hand.
This may be because of my musician training though. My mum is a pianist and she can use both hands for pretty much anything as well (despite being born right handed)...
My brother is left handed, and he's never had any problems using the keypad on the right hand side, or even a right handed mouse.
