360 vga green screen

360 vga green screen
there are some smart people on here so i thought i would ask.
i have brought a toshiba 27wl56 tv to go with my xbox 360http://www.home-entertainment.toshiba.co.uk/consumer/products.nsf/specs/lcdplasma-widescreenlcd-27wl56?opendocument.
on the specs page it says the resolution is 1280x720 i am using the vga lead. the only thing is when i select 1280x720 on the xbox options i am getting a green screen. all the other resolutions work fine.
what is happening here???????????
if knowone knows what is he next best resolution to put it on.
