PC upgrades - what to consider
OK, decided to do a few upgrades to my system.
I'm running an AsusTek P4PE G-F-SATA-GD motherboard with Pentium 4 2.4ghz.
I currently have a Western Digital 80gb ATA drive, 1 floppy drive, CD drive plus DVD writer, plus an external USB drive, I also have 512mb DDR memory on 1 184 pin slot.
Basic case with 350w PSU.
I want a new internal HDD, Western Dig 250gb, 512mb extra DDR ram and some more cooling fans.
I'm assuming I can fit the new HDD in parellel with the current HDD, providing I have a spare IDE and power cable, fairly sure I have though.
With these extras, do i need to upgrade the PSU or case cooling?

You shouldn't 'need' to upgrade the PSU, but it is a possibility.
As for the raid setup, forget it. For one thing IIRC when you raid 2 drives together, you should ideally have 2 similar, or preferably identical drives.
If you use 2 different drives, say a 250gb and 80gb like you have, you would only get to use the 250 as an 80gb, which is a hell of a waste of space!!
Good guide here

Also fancying a new case as well. How advisable is it to completely strip my current system down, including MOBO, Processor etc, then clean and rebuil it all into a new case?
I built the system myself, so quite happy with all the manual stuff, just a bit worried about it not working when I power it back up.
