Default Which DSL router do you use with PIPEX?

Stupidly bought a naff 3com wireless router which disconnects all the time. Didnt do my homework before buying (2nd hand) and after 5 mins on google I find loads of problems with them.

Will update firmware tonight but if that doesnt fix will be on ebay.

I know a lot of people on here are on PIPEX so what make & model router do you use in case I need to buy another? Want wireless 11g with 4port ethernet.

Cheers,
Simon.

I'm using a Netgear DG834G v2 and my mate is using a Netgear DG834GT. Both on Pipex without any hassle. My DG834G is also running 2 other PC's and a PS2 at the same time.

Using an Origo 4-port router/modem (wired). Works a treat

Using the DG834GT no problems here.. fastest speeds I have ever achieved with a router.. the Belkin one I had was so slowwww

I think Amazon.co.uk are doing a special offer on the Netgear range at the mo..

Me too.

I'm on pipex and using this router. Never had a problem, not even with computers connected on wireless.

Just praise for the router above, GT version is mine, wireless and 108Mbs with the right pcmia card in thew laptop.

not on Pipex though thankfully...

I set up a pc for my uncle the other day as he's just signed up with them, couldn't believe they give you a fixed e-mail addy that is not changable just a bunch of letters ands numbers no one's ever going to remember as your address...
I told him he should ring thier help desk as I couldn't find out how to change it on their web help pages, thought, there must be a way...
Told him not to mail anyone his new address until he had phoned and confirmed it couldn't be changed...
Got a mail from him today with the daft address on.
Who thought that system up ???

Using the DG834GT with PIPEX too. Very good compared to the previous Belkin and 3-Com ones I've tried.

You can setup mail aliasi (<name>@dsl.pipex.com) with Pipex. http://tertiary.gt.pipex.net/cgi-bin/setalias.pl is the link to set them up.

And another vote for the Netgear DG834. Have 2 PCs, a laptop and two PSPs connecting wireless-ly and a PS2 via ethernet cable attached to it.

Well after updating firmware from 1.04 to 2.06 its worked a treat. Plenty more configurable options as well.

So will see how it goes but the netgear does sound good.

Cheers for you input guys.

I'm on the netgear one above too. It's got to be the easiest bit of kit I've used to setup. pc/laptop/ps2/ and 2 xbox's with no problems.
