Question IBM TFT Monitor Fault - any experts here?

I've got an IBM TFT Monitor model T86 18.1-inch Flat Panel Monitor (9497).
Basically the screen is black when switched on but it occassionally flickers and I can then see the desktop for a second then it goes of again. Any experts on here or does anyone know where I could get it sorted?

Thanks

Sounds like a back light problem to me, not sure were you would go to get it fixed though.

We have 17" IBM TFT's at work and over the past 12 months i reckon 6 or 7 have done exaclty what you say.

We get an advnaced replacement with IBM, is it not in warranty?

sounds more like the inverter is at fault....if it were a backlight then either the top or bottom of the screen would be dim depending on which bulb was out
