Hi all just thinking of getting a modded xbox ,have only had ps2 up till now and need to know whats the best one to get. Been looking on fleabay.Want too use it mainly as a media centre in the spare room. Is there any good site's to check out?

Pretty much all the mod chips do the same thing, it's purely the bios that will allow you to use it as a media centre, i.e watch multi format DVD's, VCD's etc, and if your gonna use it for this stick a big HD in and then you can just load and leave the stuff on there.

 

XboxScene is a great source of information....

 

A modded xbox is a better media centre than either a Media PC or an xbox 360!

Only a modded xbox can play Divx/Xvid (99% sure about this).

You can even 'Softmod' them now with an Action replay memory card - no need to open up and fit a modchip (I fitted an Xecuter 3).

It can even output HDTV and Dolby 5.1!

Watching Lost or Rome in HDTV quality streaming across the lan through the xbox is simply awesome.
