Ive had most consoles and I have never known them not drop in price with in a few months. I would of thought that Microsoft are going to want to get the maximum amount of these possible in the most amount of homes before PS3 comes out. I am sure the basic will be under £200 and the hardrive pack will be under £250 at the bare minimum. It will also let them iron out any small faults that there are in the launch consoles.
Does anyone know the dimensions of the power supply? It looks HUGE!

**** knows I pre-ordered mine from the local Game about a week after they started taking pre-orders - paid my deposit and was told I'd definitely get one on launch day. Found out during the week that I'm 31st on the pre-order list so my hopes of getting one are fading rapidly
Booked the afternoon off to so I could collect it at lunchtime and do some serious gaming for the rest of the weekend! Given the rumours flying about stock levels for launch, there's probably **** all chance I'll see mine on launch day

I ordered via Amazon on day 1 when the prices came out. They still don't know if I'm getting it on the 2nd.
spoke to my local Asda and they are getting some in to sell at midnight and they haven't taken any pr-orders.

Didn't think projectors were good for games though? I've heard many horror stories about burnt in images etc (worse than plasmas).
I'm going to have to make do with my low-def 42" plasma for the moment. May go hidef next year though...

I went into my local blockbuster video shop last night looking for a film to rent and tomy surprise they had an xbox 360 kiosk. Nobody was even looking at it so I had a play on Call of Duty 2 and Kameo.
First impressions were not great if you are used to playing games on a pc. The graphics looked no more impressive than my PC which uses an ancient Geforce 4 card. There was also some slowdown in Call of Duty 2 and there was noticeable jagged edges. I hope this is just because it was a test disc and the full release game will look better. I don't think it helped that you were stood so close to the screen, when you stood around 10 feet back it looked much more impressive.
The new dashboard and controllers are 10x better than the old xbox though.
It's a shame there was no playable demo of project gotham 3, that is about the only game that interests me from the launch titles. There was a video which didn't particularly show much, but the Gotham TV part of the game looks really impressive!
Still undecided lol...

Iain I've been using my NEC projector fo rth elast two years with my Xbox and no burnt image yet. I don't leave it on pause for a long time or do anything that will burn it on purpose.

I fail to see how a minimum display of 1280x720 (thats the xbox360's lowest res) via Hi-Def will not impress me. From the video I have seen (in hidef), it looks pretty impressive to me.
The proof will be in the pudding I suspect though.
Regards,
Shaun.
