Question What laptop?

I going to buy a laptop soon and I was wondering if you people knew of any deals?

I have approx £500.00 to spend on one, it will be used for word, exel and surfing the net (wireless).

I quite like the widescreen models.

Any recomendations?

Scott

I only use Apple, but I know a few people whom have bought the cheapest lappy from Dell and say it is superb for the cash. IIRC £399 and one guy rated it better than his wifes work provided £1700 HP.

I'm sure the PC officianados will be along soon to discredit me though

An acquired taste, but you have to be prepared to try them in the 1st place. Many people who have never owned or even used a Mac will dis' them, whereas all Mac users will also have regular use of PC's and always choose Mac. Extremely stable OS (mine hasn't crashed once since installing the latest generation (OS X) some 3-4 years ago), extremely user friendly, extremely network friendly (plug anything in and it simply works), stylish, fast, safe & secure (I have never had any anti-virus software or a firewall (except the inbuilt OS one) and have never needed them). It is also well known that the MS Office Suite is better on Mac than on PC and surfing is very stress free. Most popular apps can be had, and some can be run in softwindows if your Mac is powerful enough. If you do a lot of gaming then you may be better with PC, Mac owners use games consoles for games and proper computers for proper work

Try one, it's a brave new world 1.5m PC users switched to Mac last year
