S-video ?? DVD player codec required
I've just re-installed XP and noticed the dvd player doesn't by default play dvd's (no codec )
So before I just sling in the WinCinema disc I have, is there a better codec / player / program out there (free of course)
Also
Which would be the best S-video "output" socket to use for output to TV as I have two, one directly off the 9800 pro graphics card and one off the Asus M/B, they have different pin arrangements but both say "S-vid out"

Hi Fuzz,
The different pin arrangements may be because one does composite over some extra pins. If the M/B has a S-Video out I assume it has onboard GFX but that is disabled as you are running the 9800. In which case I doubt it does anything.
VLC is something to look at for free DVD play back. Been meaning to have a good look at it for ages but just never got round to it. Google will be your friend there
