Looking really at something that runs on a desktop & can have messages sent to it from a program in such a way that it just adds a line but is visible. This is then able to be stored (without intervention) as xml or txt.

Got a system at the moment which sends me messages but is totally inflexible as it was not designed to deal with 10 messages every few seconds. I also can't save as a log & once deleted are gone...

Any recommendations as to a piece of simple s/ware to do this or ideas?
