Default Laptops with damaged screens

Anyone know if they can be fixed at a decent price ??

Girl in the office was telling me there that she has a <cough> Time <cough> laptop with a think a 14" or 15" screen and it just stopped working one day, she sent it away for repair & they advised her that it would cost £400 just to replace the screen ??

Is there any other options ??

The screens are usually the most expensive parts on laptops and yes that sound about right. You can sometimes get second hand screens, try laptopbits.co.uk, we use em and they have plenty of second hand spares for just such requirements, not that im saying its cheap to fix.
