Ive acquired a couple of CRT’s from work as they were throwing them out. Both of them are in very good condition and both seem to work great. I gave one to my sister and I’ve plugged the other into the monitor output on my laptop. Everything seemed to work great until I tried to play a video clip in media player. For some reason the CRT wont show the clip, the rest of the display is fine but the screen in media player is blank the clip plays fine on the laptops TFT but wont on the CRT. Tried playing a clip on my sisters PC with the new monitor and everything plays fine.

 

might be something to do the refresh rate on media player. only a sugestion though

 

I know on some Laptops you can have dual screen mode. This is normally setup in the BIOS. Or depending on your graphics card, can be found with the util on Windows XP.
