Default New PC not booting

Hi guys, I have a similar problem to some earlier threads about a new PC not booting. I bought a barebones system recently consisting of mobo, memory, processor and case. I transfered my old HD, graphics card DVD-RW and CD-RW over to the new system. Everything installed, I turned the machine on and I can hear everything working (HD sounds how it does when you boot the PC, as do the DVD & CD drives) but there is nothing coming up on my monitor. There aren't any beeps when the speakers are on either. Any possible help would be appreicated.

I had a similar problems recently - fans came on, hard drive clicked away but the giveaway was no beeps when the pc first started.

Turned out eventually to be some sort of earthing issue on the case. I took everything out and rebuilt it from scratch including the motherboard and processor and its now fine.

Remove & re-seat the processor. If that doesn't help look at the PSU. What is your pc spec including the full PSU power ratings?

Worth checking an reseating RAM also. Or try one stick at a time just in-case. Only other thing to check is if the GFX card is in and seated correctly.

get back to the basics, unplug any usb headers, all of the front case cables apart from the power switch and speaker, ensure both power cables are fitted if your m/board supports this, "atx and additional 4 pin connector" reset the cmos, ensure the fsb is set correctly, re-seat the ram, and remove any additional cards ie; modem etc, if your mainboard has onboard with an additional agp socket graphics try the onboard 1st.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I took the PC apart this afternoon and found that the pins of the processor were bent. Is there anything I can do like bending the pins back or should I send it back to Scan?

Send it back. Trying to bend the pins back may end up with them snapping off. If the CPU was fitted by the company you bought the machine off, definitely send it back. If you fitted the CPU yourself they may try and say that you damaged it !

Was the processor box sealed? If so, you almost certainly bent them yourself, so if I were you, I'd just VERY carefully bend them back. Be very careful, as they will break if you bend them back & forth too much.

Thanks for the replies once again, everything is sorted kinda. managed to move the pins back into place and everything boots up. That is until after reading the drives, shows on the screen that both dvd and cd drives have been read but after that it sits on a black screen where briefly it has a message about Raid settings. Any help here? Thanks once again for the help before!!

wild guess that you DIDN'T have SATA raid before?

If not, then the onboard SATA RAID is enabled maybe?

Yup you are correct, disabled the SATA RAID but its still the same. A friend of mine recommended that I may need to put the HD back in my old system and change somethign from there. Is he correct about that?

I thought putting a H/drive installed on one machine into another with a different Hardware config (ie motherboard) always created problems?

I've always re-installed the OS when changing the motherboard

So everything is an IDE device yes? I hate to ask this... but when you check in BIOS, you DO have the HDD on the primary IDE channel?

Oh hang on... obvious thing part two.... check the boot order.

If the SATA raid was set to be (probably) the 3rd item in the boot list, the IDE drives may not be (usually CD, A: IDE HDD)

can you chuck a bootable windows CD in and see if it'll let you play with the disks?

(you might need to play with the boot order again)

You might need the SATA Flotty disk drivers - F6 when prompted.

Fixed.. it was all caused by a conflicting stick of ram, seems like the two sticks I have do not like each other :P
