Laptop with serial port ?
Anyone know of a current laptop that has a serial port.
Not bothered what make but it must have a serial port, USB serial emulators do not work with the software.
Cheers

I had a similar search a while back for laptops. They had to have a serial port (some of the PBX programming software we use doesn't like the USB emulators) and XP Pro.
I ended up going for Fujitsu-Siemens. Went for C Series for our engineers and a nice E8010 for me - both have a physical serial port.

Hi,
We have some probs at work, my laptop has an old school serial port, and works fine, but another guy has no serial port, but you cannot use a serial emulator to fire a HEX program file into a piece of equipment, it wont have it. I found that using a Belkin hub, that splits from USB to a small box, with PS2 and a 9-pin serial port on it will work. This device works with no problems If you need any more info I can find out some exact Belkin number if any use to you. I thought this info may be of use, unless you have already ordered a new laptop!
