Default hauppauge tv card and sygate firewall

Hi all
Long shot this. If anyone has this particular setup: hauppauge wintv card and a sygate firewall have they got round the problem of the firewall blocking the card?
This has been a known problem for a while and I was wondering if anyone had found a solution.

I currently run wintv on the kid's pc in a windows 98 partition w/o sygate.

is it not worth just moving your OS up to XP now. Win98 is well out of date these days.

Didn't make it clear. My PC is XP Pro. The kid's is XP Pro with a Win 98 partition that does not have the sygate firewall in order to run the tv card. I want to install the tv card on my PC but sygate blocks this application.

bit confused. Why do you need the firewall software. Bin it off and use another manufactuers firewall client.

Yeh, I imagine I'll have to try this though I wanted to avoid setting up another firewall and getting it configured.
Cheers
