heads up - brilliant but little know PS2 game
God OF War
Just got it, superb. Loving every minute
You play he role of a greek hero, who kicks mucho ***. Lots of good puzzles and tons of action.
Has had very little press over here in the UK - kind of reminds me of ICO who hardly anyone knows exists, yet is one of the best games on the PS2!

Awesome game A little too easy, but one of the very few games I've played to the end recently. Some very, very frustrating bits to come later on in the game

this thing just gets better and better the further I get into it. I must be about half way through (rings of pandora) and it continues to amaze me.
Beautifully written.
Puzzles are just right.
Graphics are amazing.
The guy who put it together, David Jaffe, deserves a medal. I did a bit of checking and he did the Twisted Metal series, which I've never played - are they any good ?
I'd put this in my top5 ps2 games easily.

ICO
utterly superb, never has a game so simple provoked s o much reaction,
how many of you stood on the round platforms and just spent ages looking around and listening to the sounds effects and looking at the scenery??
spooky thing is how many of you will admit to having a sense of deja vu about the locations depicted?? dark flights of stairs, large buildings etc??
and the hidden easter eggs,,,, havent got the light sabre yet but i,ll go back for it

Mart, ICO is fantastic but I wonder just how many people know about it ?
Criminally, it was hardly promoted in Europe, leaving the majority of PS2 owners unaware of what it was.
Agree with your comments - I used to just stand around in the locations and soak up the ambience. Beautiful!

do yourself a favour and check it out! Note the review score they give - 9.4 / 10
Its been a long time, but not many have heard of it - I bet you can pick it up for a budget price now, but don't let that put you off - its magic.

Well, I went and bought this on the strength of this thread, and the reviews by the game sites.
What an absolutely mint game !
Gameplay is spot on, right from the start, you get the intro movie, then he dives of a cliff.... right onto the deck of a ship with out 6 bad boys trying to chop you up , its like, hang on, I havent even read the fcukin instructions yet.....!!
The fighting is mint, really easy to get to grips with, and very entertaining, bosses are also good, with some interesting ways to finish them off.
The power up system is good, each time you get a kill, you get a few points- you get more for killing them by hand. You need 1500 to get the first power up. At the start of level 2, you drop into a bedroom on a ship with 2 wenches with thier spuds out , if you interact with them, a *sub game starts where the hero bones them, you have to hit the buttons in a specific order as shown on the screen, ( a bit like playing Simon )...the object is to bone the wenches hard enough to cause a jug on a bedside table to fall off and smash...when you get the jug to smash, a load of power up points come out of it for you to collect
Then you bone em' again for more points until you reach the 1500 required
Good call for this game, well worth it. Quite similar to Turok, but 3rd person
* not that type of sub game Tel .

those crazee greeks!
Can't believe I *missed* the boning section! Mustn't have been paying attention to the screen. Those were some nice baps too.
Chips - you sure you didn't just dream this section ?!!

I only noticed it as I approached the bed, and "R2" ( interact) appeared on the screen, Initially I was just going to chop them up to gain a few points
See if you have an early save that you can backtrack to for a sneaky virtual leg over

LOL..you barsteward....I have just cracked it aswell..
you do the first hop over at your lesiure, pull the statue on the switch, go back...
its all timing...the timed run against the clock is best started when the first block is just coming to the end of its travels from left to right...
I was this-----> . close last night, tonight I was going to do the honours...I think I'll take the easy route now
