VPN help required between 2003 SBS and 2000 SBS servers
Help!
I've set up a few VPN's before between XP machines and 2000 Pro machines and even got a 3 way VPN going on 3 2000 SBS machines. This one just won't work though. Here is the setup
Server 1 has Windows 2003 Stardard Small Business Server (No ISA)
2 Network cards
1st card (LAN) running at 11.10.1.1 (255.0.0.0)
2nd car (Internet) running at 192.168.1.254 (255.255.255.0)
Server 2 has Windows 2000 Small Business Server
Also 2 Network cards
1st card (LAN) running at 10.10.1.1 (255.0.0.0)
2nd car (Internet) running at 192.168.254.222 (255.255.255.0)
Both machines can browse their own networks and the internet. The clients on each server can do the same.
RRAS is setup using the wizard to receive incoming connections on the 2000 machine.
I've used the wizard on the 2003 to create a VPN dialup to the 2000 server. The connection works ok and connects. I point the DNS and WINS of the dialup to the 2000 server (10.10.1.1) I also take the tick out of use default gateway.
The 2000 server gets an IP of 10.10.1.251 and the 2003 server gets an IP of 10.10.1.252
With this setup I can ping and browse the 2000 machine from the 2003 machine fine, but I cannot ping or browse the other way around. If I use the pingpath command is show me that the 2000 server knows the name of the 2003 server and it looks on 10.10.1.251 but it resolves to an IP address of 0.0.0.0 and cannot reach the destination.
Anyone understand what's happening?
