Question Upgrading laptop

Im thinking of getting a better processor for my laptop and possibly a 40gb hdd.

Its currently got a Celeron 2.40ghz.

Can i change it for a Pentium and roughly how much would it cost and how much would a 40gb hdd be?

Is it a case of plug and play?

im 99% sure that wouldnt be possible, things like ram can be upgraded (possibly the hard drive) but cpu would need a new motherboard id imagine

off the top of my head the socket would also be wrong for the cpu

Yep no chance of swapping the CPU, however like Mike has said memory and hard drive can be upgraded.
Your looking at £50 ish for a 40 GB hard drive.

may be a problem of how many ram slots are in there and the max size they can take per slot, going up to 512 would make it faster though. For now take as many things as possible off startup except the essential things

depends on your $ situation really, if you can afford a new laptop and use it often then id go for a new one, if not a ram upgrade might be all you need
