23228 Notice of Unauthorized Use of Paramount Pictures Property
Anyone seen this before ?
Its an email from a friend's ISP, claiming they've received a complaint on behalf of Paramount about his file sharing activities ?
It came with an accompanying text that looks pretty real. I've never heard of this before.
A friend has had it emailed to him, relating to the file sharing network he uses ?

Well I've seen his computer and he downloads about 2-3 a month I'd say. The fact the email he got appears to be from the legal department of his ISP is slightly alarming.
It looks like the ISP was contacted by a company called BayTSP on behalf of Paramount

Is it a cease and desist or we're taking you to court?
If it's the former then I would do what they say and if it's the later I would get a lawyer. I would suggest that your friend stops downloading or sharing copyrighted material......!
