Default Sharing monitor/keyb/mouse

Space is limited and I have a pc all wired up. g/f has a laptop.

I want both the main unit and the laptop to 'share' the main monitor/keyb and mouse (obviously not at the same time ).

Are there any cheap switches/adaptors that enable this?

I use a Belkin OmniView KVM switch at work. Have one keyboard, mouse and monitor between my PC and Sun workstation and switch between the two as and when I need.

Think it's one of these but not exactly sure on the model number

Whether or not it would work with your laptop setup I have no idea

I managed to get a keyboard switchable KVM switch from e-buyers clearance section for £3.99. It came without instructions, but the only thing you do is double tap the scroll lock key to switch.

The Belkin omniview is a PS2 KVM switch. Nice enough unit and RRP circa £20 inc cabling (2-port)

If your laptop has PS2 ports you're fine, if not a USB KVM will set you back considerably more than the £20 a PS2 unit would be (expect about £50)
