Question Bluetooth GPS or wired.......

Looking for a GPS device for my Sony CLie PDA (TG50)....

Using VIA Michelin software (under Palm 5)

Can anybody recommend a compatible (cheap!) device to marry this lot together please?

Cheers,

Dan

I have a BT and hate it but I'm not sure about wired for that device.
There have been a few threads about it in the last couple of months...

We have around 30 "Clip-On" BT GPS devices. Seem to work well enough & do the job. Bonus is that you can buy inexpensive Nokia phone batteries to act as back-up in case you need more than 5-6 hrs power.

Wired you are stuck in a vehicle.

out of interest Hank, why do you hate it? Is it just the battery issue?

Puff, can you give me some model numbers? Likewise Hank?

Cheers,

Dan

I hate my BT receiver and wished I'd bought a wired one.
Battery life is only 4-5 hours so on long trips (or medium return trips), the battery gives up.
So I now have a BT reciever with a 4" charge cable, into a USB extension, into the Arkon mount and it's a frikkin mess.
The BT drops out and needs the PDA to be reset to get back on, a real PITA at motorway services etc where I wouldn't leave the PDA in the car.
