IBM Netvista:Mouse powers up machine when shutdown.
This is really weird
One of my users has reported an issue she has had with her machine since she has had it. Which is about 2 years. I love users. Honest. lol
Anyway as the the title suggests. When the machine is powered down if the mouse is moved it starts up the machine.
I read somewhere it could be a setting in the BIOS but if anybody else can shed a bit of light on the subject that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure that the screen isn't in power saving mode? And Not the PC that has shutdown. You know what these users are like, they can't tell the difference.
In Some BIOSes this feature is normall found in the Power Saving subsection. Some of them can even set the Network card to achieve the same thing.

Screen defo not in power save mode. Seen it for myself.
Went into the Bios and in the power section and it's all been disabled i.e. Network card activity, Modem etc etc.
This is really starting to bug me now. I've never seen this happen before especially as a default option. Maybe something you would enable. But as default?
Guys here at work are a bit stumpped aswell.
Thanks for your suggestions so far. Keep em coming

Worked a treat!
The only reason this came up in the first place was because when the cleaner came round and cleaned the users desk an knocked the mouse she noticed it turn on.
The user has only had the PC 2 years so just goes to show how good our cleaners are. lol
Thanks people for your sugestions
Cheers,
Rich
