Default Need help ripping a non-copyright audio CD

Hi

I have had a CD made by a friend some time ago. It is some music that they have made themselves, there are no copyright issues here

The CD will play in an audio player, it will also play on a computer.

I have been able to rip many CD, with copyright in the past using something called CDex.

For some reason, this CD is being a little bugger. None of my software will recognise it as a proper audio CD. It is the only copy in existence, and we want to digitally rip the music from it.

When viewed in Explorer the only track present is "Track01.cda". It is only 44Kb in size!!! There is only one track on the disk.

Can someone suggest some reasons as to what could be going on there? I really want to get this music off and onto my machine for my friend so that we can make some copies. We really want to rip digitally, just like all the other CD's I've backed up in the past.

ok, more examination may suggest to a dodgy ripper. Not sure why it has stopped working, been using it for years. Anyone fancy suggesting something that is reliable, fast , friendly, and preferably free

Thanks, sorted it nicely. I already have Nero Ultra, never tried out any of its advanced tools as I already had "better" stuff when Nero introduced theirs.

Turns out my ripper that has worked really well for years can no longer use my DVD drive Nero is totally happy
