GT Force pro wheel for GT4
Played sooooooooo much GT4 before my wheel finally arrived.
Now i dont know if its because ive used the pad for so long, but the wheel seems a nightmare to use.
Do you use it with the 900 degree setting? sometimes 2 turns or whatever it is lock to lock just seems weird or do i need to get used to it?
Just cant see it ever being as responsive as the pad.
Might take the steering wheel out of the skyline and connect the ps2 pad i like it that much................bet thats never been done before!!!

yeah most people have suffered this initially, including myself. you just need to learn to drive more smoothly again, make the most of the considerably greater analog travel of the throttle and brakes, coax the steering don't just throw it in etc. once you get used to it you will never look back.
and when you get bored of GT4, come on over to http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=429060

Thanks for the reply, another thing though, i very much doubt using the wheel will get anyone any faster times than using the pad, lock to lock with the pad is a matter of moving your thumb an inch at the most, yet with the wheel i think even my old old escort had less turns lock to lock.

if you look on gtplanet.net all of the people setting the best times are using DFP not pad.

Edcase - I agree with the turning more precisely and braking etc but on very tight bends you can change direction so much quicker with the pad.
Like i said some of this is down to the fact that ive played a stupid amount of hours on gt4 before my wheel turned up, i think im like 70 something % done, have about 300 cars maybe more inc all the racing skylines, nsx's, supra's, spent so much time collecting loads of cars ! the only decent cars i havent got are the sauber merc and the bentley.

StickyMicky- I saw Tiff using the wheel and he was saying how good it was, he was driving a bmw m3 and he went round a bend and put his foot down and the **** came out..............
Now ive tried this even with all the driving aids off and it doesnt work, im pretty sure if you sit in a m3 when its not moving, wheel on full lock and nail the go pedal the **** would come round, should i be using the crap tires ?
I think im disapointed with the wheel, after such a long wait it hasnt lived up to the hype, or ive never driven a car where the wheel feels like it lets put it that way.

the wheel is splendid - get used to it using some slower cars and the amount of turn req. in 900 degree mode is only a problem on the two tight corners on the money track.
do some of the slower manufacturer races if you haven't done them yet.
also, have you got the wheel set up in simmulation mode?
being progressive is the key - i got the playseat too and it sommetimes it just feels so like a car (like doing the british gt championship in the lotus carlton the other night - splendid fun)
i've never been so pleased with peripherals (and i've bought tons of cack over the years) and everyone who has tried it has said it's the best gaming expereince they've ever had.

PAPA - It says that the simulation mode for the PRO wheel is deactivated, it says it in the options, it says thats only for the wheel that came out before the pro one.
Perhaps ive got it set up wrong?
Has to be said the instructions that come with it are crap.
