don't like that controller much - I might stick with the DualShock2...glad I've got a USB adapter for it.
I'm definately having a black one though - silver looks awful.

yep - blu-ray discs & 2x HDMI outputs
Sony have also learned from the mistakes of the PS2 by the looks of it - this one is a lot easier to code for by all accounts.
Some of the screenshots look impressive - Killzone 2 looks good.
Oh well, only a year to wait for it...

The Blu-ray disks can hold 54Gb. With this in mind have Microsoft made a mistake with using a std DVD drive in the 360? Games like Halo 2 use a DL DVD so wont games in the future exceed the current DVD format in terms of size?

Seems that's all Sony likes releasing, I remember back to the lead up to GT4, they released stills from 'actual in game footage', which we all now know were screenshots taken in "photo mode". So they weren't actually lying as such, just misleading.
Or that's how I saw it.

As Jack mentioned, some videos are here

Even though killzone looks awesome, from past experience I will reserve judgement on any game until I hear feedback on a playable demo. Amount of times I've seen the pre-release game look awesome compared to the final version

the only problem with blu-ray is that it might not become THE standard replacement for DVD. Sony are the only one's pushing it although other manufacturers are pointing to HD-DVD, saying that blu-ray isn't backwards compatible when it is (just look at PS3's specs - it plays everything and it only has 1 drive).
Another memory card though - hopefully this time they'll sort it so you don't need a PS1, PS2 & PS3 cards - although not it's gonna use the Memory sticks - which I thought would have been a feature of PS2.
Expected Jap launch in March, with no HDD in the box (I see Sony changing that though, cost depending) US & Europe 3 months later.

I don't think it'll any more than 6/7 months after XBox360, Although the PS3 is more powerful, it's not than big a step for Sony to give MS a year's head start.
The duck demo vid is impressive - watch the part with the glasses of water and the eye-toy - impressive is an understatement. Actually looks like good water effects too, something the PS2 lacked IMHO - but take time to look at the surroundings - the level of detail is awesome.

Agree about the HDD - deffo needs it, it's a pity Sony didn't make more of it with the PS2 seeing as they left a huge hole for in the back of it.
Looks like Sony and MS are doing it differently - XBox 360 comes with a HDD on launch day and you have to the choice to go without a few months later & Sony are going without one on launch day and giving you the option to get one if you want, which is obviously to do with pricing.
The HDD situation will change IMO, I think Sony will wait and see what the games developers are planning before deciding - I'd say most of the software houses will be wanting to cash in on the downloadable content side of things - so will be asking for a HDD from the off. It'll probably end up being an optional extra - Could be an expensive day that one, walking into GAME and getting the PS3, extra controller, a couple of games & a HDD...
Please, please let Killzone 2 look as good as that movie..

I think it was for entertainment value more than anything else - anytime I've been in a Sony Centre lately it's always Spiderman on every telly in the shop...
Gutted the Motor Storm clicky is down - looking forward to that - a GT style racer from the makers of WRC - oh yes.
