I want to upgrade my 256mb 266MHz DDR PC2100 DIMM CL2.5 with 512mb RAM but I dont have a clue what will be compactable.

Can you recommend me a 512mb RAM that will work with my 256mb 266MHz DDR PC2100 DIMM CL2.5 please.

This would be fine, assuming you are looking for RAM for a desktop PC.

It's PC3200 but will happily automatically run slower at PC2100, plus it's the same price as the PC2100 part. You may as well buy the faster module so if you upgrade in the future and need faster RAM you already have it

I was under the impression I had to buy the same PC2100 but If PC3200 will run happily slower I might aswel buy better as you said.
