Forza Motorsport - X-Box
Managed to obtain an 'evaluation pre-release copy' and I'm bursting to get home and try it out!!!
For the do gooders - it is also on pre-order from Play so I have the original when it's released

Been trying to share my time between GT4 and Splitner Cell Chaos Theory for the past few weeks
Splinter Cell now complete so busting a gut to get home and try out Forza!!
As far as GT4 goes, I personally think they have just shinied the graphics up slightly - sure people will disagree

That's why I need a report comparing the driving physics of the two, not just the gloss of the graphics Want to know if it's going to be worth forking out for, or if it's a bit of a lemon

I played this yesterday for a short time (first impressions last so playing longer wouldn't have changed my mind) and certainly wont be buying it, a massive let down on the handling front in my book. When a car gets its back end out it feels like its swivelling on a centre pin almost. Not a patch on GT3 or GT4's handling (think GT3 still has the best). Also cornering is not as smooth or as progressive as GT4. Perhaps it would be different with a wheel but I doubt it. I played it with all the driving aids on and all the driving aids off. It was OK with them on as the cars couldn't lose the back end and get that sh!tty handling feeling but I want to be able to slide the cars round corners and thats what makes the realism in GT4 so great and this is the main let down in Forza.
The graphics are good and its not a bad game, but to me it feels like PGR2 handling with GT4 style tracks and thats not what I was expecting after all the hype. I thought it was supposed to be as good as if not better than GT4.
I am sure there will be plenty of Xbox fans who disagree with me and say I am a PS2 die hard fan but I have all 3 main consoles and I would like to say its better than GT4 as the graphics are better but overall its just not as graphics are not the one sole factor determining how good a game is. The poor handling lets this game down.
I would say the best part is that it has Ferraris included and the Enzo looks and something the GT series need to address in future releases.
So for me its still the PS2 and the GT series which has the best realism of driving. For the better graphics I will just have to wait for PS3 and a GT release for that.

Been playing this over the weekend and it feels very arcadey and is definitely not a racing simulator ( from a driving point of view anyway )
Other than the points mentioned above the menu system is not as slick as GT4 and just feels very messy, also the colour is very dark and most races feel very overcast ( I ended up turning up the brightness on my TV ) and the cars just don't feel quick...!
Good points: Errrr Crash damage and some geeky techy stuff on the replays...
At times it's like your playing PGR, then you could be playing GT4 and then you could be playing NFSU. It does nothing new and it's all been seen before... Rather dissapointing really....

The main thing for me is the xbox live function. If that comes off as they are hoping then TBH it didn't need to be too different to PGR for it to last for a very long time. We shall see what happens IMHO.

Gameplay are doing an offer on this and a wheel/pedals for £42.98 all-in. Can't fault that for a deal!!
It might even tempt me, although I am not sure what is the best steering wheel to get for xbox games?
