Default video compressor program

can anyone tell me what free program will compress a video file so that its small enough that it'll fit on a mobile phone.

Try a hollywood computer, they can do anything with just a progress bar and some icons. Seriously, How big is the video file, how long is the clip and in what format was it recorded on. Also, whats the phone it needs to fit in.

I use 'ImTOO 3GP Video Converter' to convert pretty much any video file to 3gp

dunk thats the program i'm using to convert the files. the problem is the files are about 250mb and to play them on the phone they tend to be less than 1mb. the videos i have are about 1min long

well i think i've sussed it but the videos a bit blocky if you know what i mean. ive changed the video size to the smallest dimentions, would changeing the codec make it any better?

I changed the 'same_quality' setting to True and the result was superb.

cheers dunk that seems to have worked. just need to find a program that will make the files smaller, as some are only 1-1.30mins long but too big a ile to put on my phone
