Question ISA Server 2000 Rule Issue

Hi,

If anyone can help me with this I will be most greatful.

I am running ISA server 2000 on a SBS2000 server. Everything was running fine until my boss asked me to block everyones internet access apart from a few choice people. There are a number of websites that access is allowed to so I set up a new site and content rule with the following settings :

Destinations : All destinations except the selected set
I have set up a destination set with the sites that all users have access to as well as *.domainname.local for the intranet.
Schedule : Always
Action : Denied
and points to an intranet page.
Aplies to : Users and groups displayed below
All the users who should be denied access.
HTTP Content : all Content.

It all works fine then all of a sudden users who do not have access the full internet are denied access to the intranet and the browser just flickers trying to load an intranet page.

This tends to go away after 10 -15 minutes, but today the issue has not gone away. There are no events or service issues, I just have no idea why its doing this.

Can anyone shed any light for me.

Cheers

Crewy

Interesting way of doing it...

Personally I'd set up Internet Access for authorised accounts only. Create a group called 'internet users' and rule that allows access for these users only. Populate the group with the lucky few. Adding or subtracting access means amending this group only.

As for local intranet access, configure the old auto configuration setup to not use proxy for local addresses and in the Advanced button, list the local sites that proxy shouldn't be used for.
