Angry PC locking up

Every 30 seconds or so sometimes even more my computer locks up or slows right down for a couple of seconds interrupting any music playing, modem etc. as if its running out of memory. Really frustrating as I can't burn cd's properly. Tried everything I can think of to sort it

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Luke

have you installed any new hardware or software before it happened ?
checked cpu temp ?
have you checked task manager to see whats using all this memory ?
