OcUK TELEPHONE SYSTEM (8th Jan 2005 until 8th Feb 2006) Our existing telephone system is being replaced during the next few weeks with something far more appropriate for the volume of calls currently received. This will be welcome news indeed for those customers who have had to endure the present system over the last few years and I apologise for any inconvenience caused. It was bought at a time when call volumes were less than a fifth of what they are today and I for one will be glad to see the back of it. I shall keep you informed when the new system arrives.

Overclockers are the worse company ever! I've had several problems with them in the past - charging my credit card & then holding up an order for some stupid thing out of stock. They don't even accept emails any more! Recently I threatened legal action with them. I ordered 2 SATA drives & they arrived in the post rattling around inside an oversized jiffy bag! I complained immediately by letter. They didn't reply to 7 letters & duplicate faxes from me, I then started complaining to my credit card company. Eventually after 1 month, they picked up the drives & refunded me (but only after I sent them a legal warning letter by recorded delivery) - less the carriage some 6 weeks later. I'm now chasing a 100% refund & looking through the distance selling regulations.
Here's a paste from their RMA instructions which I was going to use as evidence against them in court:
Cough!
Any advice how I can get back my original carriage cost would be helpful.

1) Please ensure all items are well packed, for delicate items such as hard drives and cd-roms at least 2 inches of bubble wrap or foam should surround the items, enclosed in a cardboard box. For other items such as motherboards please ensure the manufacturers packaging (e.g. motherboard box) is wrapped or enclosed in a stiff card box as appropriate.

Under the DSR you are only intitled to have the cost of the goods refunded - not delivery - that applies if the goods are "not fit for purpose". If the goods are not of merchantable (sp) quality - that's different and you should be entitled to a full refund.

I understand that Mr Proudfoot (owner) employs monkey's to take the calls... LOL - he will keep me banned for ever now for saying that, although I have already been banned forever anyway LOL

SG: I'm banned from their forums!
BlkKnight: I'm thinking that they come under damaged goods, therefore should be collected by the company & I should receive a full refund. Page 11 of the DSR advice booklet. I have checked with Samsung who have told me that if a drive was posted & not packed correctly, the warranty would be invalid.
