Question Windows XP (Pro) Backup tool

Does anyone have any experience of this utility?

I want to make a full backup of the contents of my new PC, before it becomes peppered with unnecessary files!

When I try to backup 'everything' in the Windows Backup application, the wizard tells me I'll need a floppy disk at the end, to create a boot disk. I'm backing up to my hard drive, before burning a DVD.

Will the backup DVD be any good without the floppy/ies?

I don't have a floppy disk drive.

Alternatively, can anyone recommend a free backup tool? ;o)

I have access to Norton Ghost, but I'm not sure if it will fit this purpose.
Thanks.

Actually Ghost is perfect for the task! The only reason I don't use it is that I change drivers so often that the image is out of date within a few weeks.

ghost is your friend!

Not only will it backup you entire system pretty painlessly...you can view individual files in the image later on if needed.

MUCH better than back up IMO
