normally the easiest way is to check your web browser settings, if your using IE goto Tools-Options-Connections tab Then the LAN SETTNGS button

You should see at the bottom the proxy address etc

Why can't you just password your screensaver then - or log out ensuring you need a password to log back in?

Choose the program you want to pretend you are using and have it open.

Press the Print Screen key.

Open MS Paint/Photo Editor/Picture Manager and click on Edit->Paste [as new image].

Save the file to somewhere safe on the hard drive as a jpeg file (.jpg).

Minimize all windows, right click on the background, click Properties.

Click on the Background/Desktop tab (it should be there by default).

Click on the browse button.

Select the file you have just saved above.

Click on OK.

Bingo!

Edit: You may want to set your task bar to auto hide after you do this.

ray how pc illiterate is your mate, you could simple remove the links to IE so he cant find them, or go through that process about the proxy but this time tick the box and make up a name that doesnt exist, this will stop his internet access
