Best 17" TFT for £200?
As per title; what's the best 17" TFT PC monitor I can get for £200? I'm not into gaming, and mainly use Windows apps inc web design, a little digital photography and some movie-watching.
cheers!

Why pay 200 for a 17 when it will get you a good 19?
I got my Digimate 1916 from Amazon for 199 delivered, and its a great panel, for games too
16ms response time, specs to shame a lot of more expensive panels and both VGA and DVI inputs

I've had an LG Flatron L1710B for 1.5 years and its been great. Cost about £260 then so should be around the £200 mark by now for the current model. Its good for games (16ms response time - although I know this isnt a factor for you personally), image manipulation, watching DVD's, etc and also connects using a DVI cable so it produces a nice, crisp digital picture.

I would stick with 17" for games.
Bought 1 of these

Has a 12ms response time. Had it a few months but seems to be good.

Personal choice I suppose.
the 19" LCD only has a maximum resolution of 1280*1024. Which is the maximum resolution for a 17" screen. This means that the DPI is lower. Therefore if a dead pixel occurs it will be more noticeable on a 19" then a 17". The brightness is also lower on a 19" then a 17". The 17" also have a very low response time, though with a response time on the digimate of 16ms, this is very good.
The Digimate do seem to be very good value for money.

Thought about a Dell TFT??
They have some good offers on at the moment but they aren't the cheapest (You get what you pay for at times though!!)
Have a look at the E173FP as it's £155 delivered at the minute...
The only drawback is that it doesn't have DVI.16ms response times though
I recently bought a 2005fpw (20in widescreen tft) and the quality is amazing!!!! (We use quite a lot of the 1704's and 1505's at work and clarity is fantastic on everyone I've seen)
Good luck
Nick
P.S: Dell offer a three year on site warranty too

Well I suppose I should pitch in with my latest purchase...
...another vote for the Digimate 1916 with DVI input
From www.aria.co.uk, and I paid for the 'dead pixel chack' for peace of mind - basically it guarantees that your screen will have no dead pixels at all
I had to fiddle around with the brightness, contrast and gamma a bit to get it to look more 'analogue' (interesting concept ), but I'm more than happy...
