Ive not completed my full license yet.
I will do some stages then go back into arcade mode and then back into license mode.
I am stuck on the Merc Evo @ the ring. Follow the pace car bumper to bumper but still fail due to the lap time?
Can you overtake the pace car?

peice of cake - miles easier than GT3's - passed all but one at first attempt, although I must admit that learning the nurburgring on PGR2 helped a lot - gold time is 1min faster than bronze...

Le Sarthe proved the trickiest - kept failing due to going off track rather than being too slow.

S- License is a walk in the park compared to the 1 lap magic tests in mission hall.

Hmmm, that's not the easiest of one's to do is it. No you can't overtake the pace car, he'll adjust his speed to match your time, so you'll never get past him. It's just a case of percevering i'm afraid, good luck.

You can overtake the pace car - but it classes as a fail.

The speed of the Pace car is dependant on your performance - example - if you make an **** of the first section, the pace car will go slower perceiving you to be a **** driver, Nail the first section and it'll get a shift on.

I'm still struggling through the first set of licences, trying to get gold on each one, so I can get the cars!

All those that say the licenses are 'really easy' have you got all golds? I reckon it'd take on average 30-40mins constant runs to get gold per individual test (I'm not bad, have played all GT series but admit I don't have a DFP wheel), bearing in mind 16 tests (17 including coffee break, which wondering if these actually count towards license?) for each of 5 licenses = 80 x 30mins = 40hrs

I have all tests done - but only 6 gold & 22 silver so far. I was aiming for at least a silver on each but got bored mid-way through Domestic A so just went for anything after that - I'll go back to improving my tally later on.

I'm too busy racking up the cash for day 694...

cheddar bob ..... you underestimate the amount of Racing games we play on here. There are a few of us very seasoned games players with years of playing GT games behind us, not to mention PGR1/2.

Gold should be a challenge but not too hard. Twigster lets the side down but he knows how bad he is

I am going to kick your *** so hard when you get back mate I promise!!!

Just for the record, who has the fastest Spec C time at the ring at present?? Oh yeah, me!!! Bring it on, it won't be the first kicking a Scot has had from a Welshman in the last two weeks will it?!

I'm stuck on the ring, think its test 15 on the international A license.

I seem to make a silly mistake and end up off the course. Annoying when you done over 7 mins of it and have to do it again.

I don't doubt it at all... I have been a big gamer since the Spectrum 48K Spent countless hours on many games on many consoles and PC of course over many years, I'm quite good with the MOMO Racing wheel on the PC with GTR, TOCA 2 & LFS:S1, also got most golds on GT3, but I can't seriously believe lots of people are finding getting golds on all the licences in GT4
very easy

That's why I asked maybes the DFP really does make all the difference

I usualy go for gold in the games I buy, did the licences up to International B all at Bronze with a few flukey Silvers, very much doubt I'll go back to them again. Repetitive pain in the **** if you ask me.

Test B1 has been one of the hardest to get gold on so far - S15 round Le Sarthe was easier! (no gold on that either!)

think I'll make this weekends mission to eliminate my collection of bronzes... currently have 54 will report back monday

I'm half way through Int. A, have all silvers so far apart from 5 golds, gave up on most ones after getting silver when I was still miles off gold. My point is it'll take far too many hours for me personally (who's an above average gamer if I do say so myself ) to get all golds, I want to make a start on GT mode anyhow and buy my first car...

Did the first 4 in one sitting, with the exception of two on the first try for a bronze, life is too short to go for the golds on every one, theres racing to be done.

Still have nightmares about one of the GT3 Special license tests, Viper at Laguna Seca I think, shudders.

anyone wanting to earn alot of cash geta touring car and do the german touring car champ in europe, you win a clk gtr worth 756000 so just keep doing it till you have enough.

also if you wanna get cash quick and only have a cheep car, do the special conditions ones on tarmac, they are dead easy and if you do the thrid or second one down your get a rally raid car worth 256000 to sell.

Had a play tonight, the Merc on 'The Ring' was a good lesson that's for sure, got a silver in the end and left it at that. Looking forward to mastering the Bently around Le Mans.

I am the proud owner of all golds on GT3 - took feking ages though. I have all the licences in GT4, but only 2 golds. Seems to me that a gold in GT4 is a perfect run. you can never get more than a couple of thousandths inside it.

Not really, but you get the point, took a fair few runs.

I struggle with knackered thumbs, they click at the most inopportune moments !
