Default Ebay email WARNING

Think this is the right forum, I recieved an email telling me about security updates on Ebay with a link to log on, when this link was followed the page is exactly like the pukka Ebay website, only way you can tell the difference is by a slight change in the url in the address bar. I forwarded this email to Ebay and they confirmed it is a spoof site phishing for personal details etc.
Be warned.

Gmail flags these 100%. Comes up with "this email may not be from who it says it is) (or something similar)

There's a very simple rule: ANY such e-mail which includes a link is a fake. Real e-mails just ask you to log on as normal.

M is exactly right, never ever use links in email to any sort of secure site, ebay paypal banking etc...

although if you feel like it click the link and fill in the user name and password as " I F****d your mother" etc...

give them some back.
