PS2 Steering Wheel for GT4
I am about to order my copy of GT4. However, I think it would better if I order a steering wheel as well.
Anyone recommend a good steering wheel and the best place to get it from ?

If you've got the cash the Logitech Driving Force Pro is "the" wheel to go for. Specially designed for GT4 with 900 degree rotation. About £100 though. Chap at work is going to lend me his for a while so I can decide whether to splash out on one.

The only downside I find is that you've got to learn how to drive with the things!! (It looks easy but it ain't)
Sure practice will make perfect though!!!
Ebuyer.com sell the same wheel for £67 plus delivery but they're out of stock as are most other places at the moment!!
Have a look at this thread too
Good luck

I got the Logitech wingman force feedback from PC world for £37.99 works on PC and PS2 too - fapping excellent (wouldn't pay £100 for a steering wheel).
Transforms the game totally, the Group C test on international A is fapping mental with FF wheel!

If your interested, I have a brand new sterring wheel and pedals for sale for £30 + p&p. I used it once but prefer the controller, so it went straight back in the box.

DFP has gear selection available by either the stick shifter or microswitches on the back of the wheel. Also note that these buttons work independantly, so if you use the stick shifter then you can assign look left right on the paddles on the back of the wheel. Anyway Steve what is the model of your wheel you are selling

The wheel is not the full story...oh no.You see you need a place to sit and feel as if you are in a car, this helps to the driving simulator bit of the game.
The answer: a RaceRig from racerig.com.
I won one (see news page) and i sold the orignal wheel and brought the logitech driving force wheel. and beleive you me, it is one hell of an experience .
I was lucky in winning the racerig

lad from work bought a logic 3 gt4 wheel today so we rigged it up in the office
no force feedback, although it had vibration
special reserve review
my review
to be fair he only payed £25
the wheel control was OK
its was the dam pedals, they just were not progressive enough with the power and brakes
i ended up just spinning into walls all over the place, i belive you can re calibrate them sumhow, lad from work is going to have a play tonight to see what its like.
i rember compleatly spazzing out and just sitting there not knowing what i was supposed to do LOL
might have been the gears on the other side tho?

Offering some tasty new features over its budget compadré (above), the Top Drive GT4 wheel is perfectly suited to the driving connoisseur who still doesn’t want to fork out an arm and a leg (you’ll be needing those to drive).
BURNING RUBBER
Whether you’re a PlayStationer or an Xboxer, the Top Drive GT4 wheel caters for you, and does so with considerable aplomb. Its striking red grips mark it out from its competitors and its three levels of adjustable steering sensitivity mean that you can tailor its power precisely to your needs. The build quality is unsurpassable (when you spin this kitten, it feels like it’s worth way more than £35) and its vibration feedback will make you think twice the next time you decide to drive into a wall. It has feelings too.
TOP GEAR
The biggest addition to the Top Drive GT4 wheel (so named because it’d be rude to cane Gran Turismo 4 with anything else) is the stick shift gearstick mounted on the main unit. With steering, pedal-work and now gear shifting accurately represented, all you need to complete the full-on driving experience is some pink furry dice and a beaded seat cover. And a car.
Again, your well-earned cash gets you a nice set of analogue racing pedals (not pictured) but you also have the option of using handle paddles for braking and acceleration, and indeed shifting gears. If you sway towards the Xbox, there’s even a memory slot too.

Hobbsey, it's a Thrustmaster 360 Modena with programable buttons, shift paddles, vibration function and pedals. It's brand new and boxed. There's a clamp on the wheel so you can fix it to a table or something.

Sticky - I always found the top drive wheels really good, but to get the pedals just so I had to open the unit up and play about with the mechanics inside.

I've just ordered the Driving Force Pro from the French Amazon site www.amazon.fr only place I could find with any stock. Pay'd over the odds but can't play with the PS2 controller at the moment due to a hand injury and getting green reading all the posts on here.

no they dont have stock either. Gamestation is the only place in the UK I found stock, and most of their stores seem to have them (although some not on display)
