Come on Telewest Broadband
Seems like all the other major internet companies are giving there customers free upgrades.
AOL, NTL, PIPEX.
Wonder when Telewest will follow suit.
Currently on the 1Mb @ £25 per month.

I went from 2mb to 3mb when they did first 50% free then they did it again so I went back down to 1mb and ended up on 1.5! Think you need to check which email address they have for you as they emailed everyone to let them know!

There not much you can't do with 1Mb but 2mb for the price of 1mb would be nice.
Will need to check my mail to see if it has been upped to 1.5mb?

As BT are doing the same thing with all it's Broadband Customers, i thought id give em a call and see what i would get out of the upgrades, as i live outside the original 6km distance from an exchange they cannot garantee an upgrade from my 512 to a 1meg, however you get the upgrade for free anything up to 2 meg if your line can cope with it. The one thing i find concirning is that if your line dos'nt pass the tests you dont get a reduction in your costs even though they can provide a 2meg line for the same cost as you are paying for your 512k. Do you think this is fair? should they reduce the line rental for the people who are unable to get the upgrade? Should a 512k connection cost the same as a 2meg one?
Be interesting what people think of it?

1. Telewest are more the..er..pioneers of this. They were the first ISP to gove a free increase - and uncapped. I would sell my right arm to be able to to get blueyonder broadband. I I still couldn't type any worse
2. I agree that it seems a bit unfair that you can have someone on a 2mb line paying the same as as you on 512k if thats all your line supports. All I can say is change ISP.
When my ISP (Plusnet) move over to MaxDSL in April, I can have speeds upto 8mb if my line/exchange supports it (tho I think the max is 2mb at the Exchange) So there will be people with 8mb line when I'm 'only' on 2mb. By the same token, I'll be on 2mb and some folk will onlyh ave 512k

As mentioned the great thing with Blueyonder is there's no download cap
To get the same thing from an ADSL provider would probably cost the same. 1Mb suits me fine for now.
