Default Memory Upgrade Problem

Guys,

OK, i'm using a toshiba satellite pro 4600 (Yeah, i know - dog old)

Anyway, it had 256Mb ram (2 * 128).

So, I bought 2 * 256 for it hoping to get it to 512Mb.
Alas it still shows 256Mb in total.

I've proven that both the 256 modules are OK by installing them both seperately.

But even with a 256 module installed, and placing one of the 128 modules in the other slot I still only get 256?

I've ran a BIOS update from toshibas web site which updated the bios from V2.40 to V2.60.

Another satellite pro 4600 in the office can take both 256 modules perfectly OK.
Its got BIOS V2.60 already even though its probably older than mine, there are also a few other options which I dont have - although they don't appear to relate to memory things?

Thanks,

Shaun
