Somebody sent me a link to this http://www.astonshell.com so I downloaded it and gave it a go after looking at screenshots on website.
It seems to be very customisable with a lot of themes available.
Only downside is you have to pay for it after the evaluation period runs out.

So does anybody else have non standard windows desktop?
