is it possible to change the google search engine you get on osx from google.com to google.co.uk?

Just use .co.uk instead of .com

Jake, The Mac browser, Safari, has a google bar next to the address bar.

I assume this is what you are referring to Scoobyboy.
First glance shows there are no prefs to set this...
I can send you a bodged/hacked version of Safari I just made that seems to work.... No guarantees it works properly, all use disclaimers, buyer beware, use at own risk, trousers can go up aswell as down etc...

Yeah sorry, But there is a debug mode you can use to change various things...I will dig it out.

From what I've seen, Safari has the search location hard coded into the execuatable file, so you'd need to edit that, which is not overly advisable, could do all kinds of other weird things.

Firefox does allow you to change/add a search engine, thus allowing you to do exactly what you want, without having to use a plugin or something else. Might be worth a look.

Markus, thats what I did, used Resorcerer to edit the executable, had to be careful though...

You could use Sogudi instead. That way you don't even need to use the Google toolbar, just type g followed by your search term and you will get instant Google results. You can also customise to search other things like Amazon, iTunes, ebay pretty much anything with a search script really Luvverly
