Default webcam problem

My webcam has stopped working.
I am not ruling out operator error but any help would be great.
It says on MSN that it is not connected despite the fact it bing bongs and bong bings when plugged and unplugged from the PC.
When trying to import in to photoshop it says that it is either not connected or a DLL error
I have uninstalled ect to no avail.
XP home sp2

if its a dll error then do a clean uninstall of all the webcam software from the control panel --> add/remove programs. restart then re-install the software.

Sounds like one of the webcam driver files has been corrupted.

Just like Leslies webcam viewers
