[SPF] A3 printer questions
I'm seriously considering taking the plunge and buying an A3 printer. Probably a Canon 9950.
Anyone here got one ?
If so, where's the best place to get paper from ? I found this place selling 20 sheets for £16 - is that cheap ?
Pixmania seem to be the cheapest at £444 - are there any better deals around ?
Thanks
Al

www.printerbox.co.uk are the best I've found for price and service.
I've got a Canon s9000 and it's brilliant, full page A4 really quick, A3, slightly less quick
It's also for sale if anyone is interested....

I have a 9950. Try Park Cameras for a good price, I paid £455, although it seems to have gone up a bit recently. At least there are no issues with it being a French model.
There is a new Epson about to be released, it might be worth waiting a few weeks to see how good that is.
After much searching, I also found Park Cameras to be pretty good on paper prices too. 10 sheets of A3 PR-101 costs £19.99
Ilford Gallerie Classic Pearl is also an excellent paper to use with the 9950

-Couldn't agree more, handy to pick up from Jessops to, sometimes the high spec canon stuff is hard to get hold of.

I was on the verge of getting the 9950, but then I thought what the hell am I going to with with A3 prints? I can't fill my wall space with them and I won't sell them, so I settled for the Pixma ip8500 instead.
Quality is, shall we say, astonishing. Better than nay lab I have tried.
For best results with it though, you seem to need the Canon Pro Photo Papaer. I get mine from MX2, it's very cheap (for the chroma plus inks too) and fast delivery.

Hmmm... that Epson looks nice, but can I wait long enough ???
I bought 9 square frames that need prints wider than A4, so that was my excuse for buying one - I'll have to see if I can put my wife off for a month or so.....
